A large-scale environmental campaign has unfolded in the Abai Region as part of the "Taza Qazaqstan" (Clean Kazakhstan) program, initiated by the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. A cleanup and beautification effort is taking place across all districts of the region, bringing together thousands of residents.

Employees of the regional akimat and various departments, state institutions of the city of Semey, representatives of educational and cultural organizations, sports institutions, law enforcement agencies, military units, party branches, and other structures actively took part in the region-wide cleanup event.

In the regional center, key work areas were identified — central streets, residential neighborhoods, and the "Beibіtşılık" (Peace) island, where comprehensive cleaning and beautification efforts are underway.

Residents of the districts also demonstrated high levels of activity. In the Borodulikha District, over 300 people took part in the cleanup, collectively removing about 12 tons of waste. In the Ayagoz District, the campaign became truly massive, with approximately four thousand people joining in. As a result, around two thousand hectares of land were cleaned, 570 tons of waste were collected, and 56 units of specialized equipment were deployed.

It should be noted that ahead of the campaign, the regional governor, Berik Uali, addressed residents with a video message, urging everyone not to stand aside and to contribute to improving the environmental situation. According to him, the region's economy, culture and arts, and ecology — all of this is a shared asset, and cleanliness should become a daily habit and an integral part of life.

The governor recalled that in April of last year, as part of the "Taza Qazaqstan" program, region-wide cleanups were launched, in which more than 349,000 people participated. A total of 52,000 tons of waste were removed, over 70,000 saplings were planted, and 191 unauthorized dumps identified through satellite monitoring were eliminated. At the same time, a contest called "Exemplary Village" was held in ten districts of the region. Twenty settlements that showed particular initiative in improving infrastructure and maintaining cleanliness received keys to 20 tractors.

According to Berik Uali, the cleanliness of one's native land is a matter that concerns not only akimats and municipal services, but also every resident of the region, every family.

It is worth noting that the initiative has received a broad response, demonstrating a high level of civic responsibility and the desire of the region's residents to create a comfortable and clean environment.
