In Ust-Kamenogorsk, a practicing police forensic expert revealed the intricacies of the technical and forensic examination of currency and banknotes to students of the Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.
The meeting took place as part of dual education. A guest lecture for second-year students was delivered by the Deputy Head of the Operational-Forensic Department of the Ust-Kamenogorsk City Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Arman Mulikov, who also showcased his personal collection of banknotes to the students.
– The visual samples of banknotes and security features allowed the lecture participants to literally get a hands-on feel for the profession and better understand the specifics of expert work, – reported the Department of Police of the East Kazakhstan Region.
The Police Lieutenant Colonel explained how counterfeit bills are detected in real-world practice, which security elements are checked first, and what equipment is used in the forensic examination of currency, supporting the theory with examples from his own work.
As noted by the EKR Police Department, such meetings contribute to the training of qualified personnel and strengthen the cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the region's universities.
