Almaty – Within the walls of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism, a traditional festive meeting with media representatives was held, dedicated to the Day of Mass Media Workers.
During the event, the meeting's organizer – President of the Academy Kairat Zakiryanov – congratulated the journalistic community on their professional holiday and emphasized the important role of the mass media in the life of society.
"Journalists are our reliable partners and friends. Thanks to your work, the Academy's achievements, as well as news in the fields of sport and education, become accessible to the general public. We highly value your contribution and have always treated you with great respect," noted the President of the Academy.
According to him, this traditional event, held annually, contributes to the further strengthening of partnership relations between the journalistic community and the university. Kairat Zakiryanov also reminded attendees of the Academy's new mission – to become, in the near future, the world's most elite educational institution in the field of sports science, where world-class athletes will be trained. And this is a fully attainable goal.
"At the end of April this year, within the walls of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism, the presentation of the new public association 'Sport. Consulting. Forum.' took place. Outstanding athletes were invited to the meeting – world champions and Olympic champions from different years, who are graduates of the Kazakh Institute of Physical Culture and the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism. Among them are our famous alumni: five-time Olympic champion Nelli Kim (citizen of the USA), Vladimir Smirnov (citizen of Sweden), Evgeniy Yarovenko (citizen of Ukraine), as well as our compatriots Serik Konakbaev, Ilya Ilyin, Dmitriy Balandin, Olga Rypakova, and Islam Bayramukov, who have headed the sports directorates of 'Sport. Consulting. Forum.'," said the President of the Academy.
As K. Zakiryanov emphasized, scientific methodologies will be used to identify talented children and youth across various sports, and to train a new generation of coaches capable of raising future world and Olympic champions. SCF will not supplant the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, or sports federations in its work, but will occupy a unique niche in the preparation of world-class athletes. All financial and material expenses for SCF's activities are covered by the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism.
As part of the celebratory event, the work of the Academy's press secretary Amangul Khamidolla was also recognized for her significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between the Academy and the mass media.
During the meeting, a number of journalists were presented with letters of gratitude from the Academy and commemorative gifts.
In an informal setting, the meeting participants exchanged views on issues of national development, history, spiritual values, and current trends in the information sphere.
The Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism intends to continue developing constructive cooperation with the mass media and maintaining a fruitful dialogue with representatives of the journalistic community.
