During an official visit to Tbilisi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, held a series of meetings with Georgia's leadership, during which they discussed issues of strengthening strategic partnership and creating conditions for sustainable economic growth.

A key point of the negotiations was the discussion of investment projects by Kazakhstani companies, whose participation in Georgia's economy is growing and covers key sectors, including logistics, energy, and the financial market.

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, during his meeting with the head of Kazakhstan's foreign policy agency, noted the positive dynamics in the development of cooperation between the two states.

In turn, Yermek Kosherbayev conveyed greetings on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noting that Astana pays special attention to mutually beneficial partnership with Georgia.

The negotiations covered a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, with the parties aligning their positions on priority areas of joint work and collaboration within international platforms. At the conclusion of the discussions, it was emphasized that Kazakhstani-Georgian relations have great potential, and existing issues require effective and prompt resolution to improve the quality of interaction.

During the visit, the head of the Kazakh MFA discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Georgian relations at a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Bochorishvili.

"Kazakhstan views Georgia as a reliable political and economic partner in the South Caucasus, with whom we share centuries-old traditions of friendship and mutual assistance," emphasized Yermek Kosherbayev.

He noted the importance of high- and top-level contacts, which have laid a solid foundation for discussing pressing issues on the bilateral agenda. The economic segment of the negotiations included discussion of the growth in trade turnover and the volume of Kazakhstani investments in Georgia.

It was noted that the volume of Kazakhstani investments in Georgia's economy has exceeded 600 million US dollars, and Kazakhstani companies are actively participating in the implementation of projects in logistics, energy, and finance.

One of the key areas of partnership remains the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

"Our common task is to consistently increase its capacity, enhance the predictability of transport services, and ensure transparency in tariff policy," stated the head of the Kazakh MFA.

The sides also discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, digital economy, and financial services.

Following the negotiations, the Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia for 2026-2027 was signed. The document formalizes specific steps to deepen bilateral interaction and implement projects in key areas such as transport and logistics, energy, trade, and investment.
