Officers of the Almaty police have suppressed an instance of illegal possession of narcotic drugs.

As a result of operational-investigative measures, a suspect was detained. At the suspect's location and in his residence, law enforcement officers discovered and seized narcotic substances, including cannabis extract, marijuana, and hashish.

Furthermore, electronic scales, vacuum-sealing equipment, and packaging materials fell into the hands of the authorities, which clearly indicates drug packaging and probable preparation for the subsequent sale of prohibited substances.

The total weight of the seized narcotics exceeded three kilograms.

The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, aimed at clarifying all the details of the incident and identifying possible supply channels for the narcotics.

"A large batch of narcotic drugs has been seized from illicit trafficking. The presence of packaging equipment points to possible preparation for their distribution. Such cases are under special supervision. Efforts to detect and suppress drug crimes are carried out on a systematic basis. The principle of the inevitability of punishment will be ensured in every instance," summarized the head of the Drug Crime Control Department of the Almaty City Police Department, Baturzhan Abdumasarov.
